Removal

The 6-disc CD changer in my 2000 Toyota Avalon stopped, would not do anything including ejecting CD's, and my CD's were inside.  One of your respondents reported a similar problem and said to disconnect the battery, wait a couple minutes, reconnect and try the CD player again.  It may reset itself.  I did this, and sure enough, it worked!!!  A local audio repair shop wanted $25 to remove the changer, doubted that it could be fixed and said I should expect to pay $350 which would have bought an aftermarket single CD player.  You saved me at least $350 and probably more!  Thanks!!
